Karen J. Dimond received both her undergraduate and law degree from Loyola University in Chicago and was licensed to practice law in 1980.  She has spent all of her career representing public entities, including the State of Illinois as an Assistant Attorney General, Cook County as an Assistant State’s Attorney, and local government bodies while in private practice.  Ms. Dimond’s experience has been in civil litigation in the areas of labor and employment, tax, civil rights, and local government law.  She is a member of the ISBA Section on Local Government Law, and she authored Due Process Rights of Public Employees Upon Termination for the ABA 's Public Lawyer Journal. She has argued appeals in every district of the State, in the Illinois Supreme Court, and in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She formerly served as an adjunct professor at John Marshall Law School, teaching appellate practice.
