Emma Johnson began her career as a Himes Petrarca & Fester Summer Law Clerk in 2022. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2024. She also completed her undergraduate degree at University of Iowa, where she graduated with Honors in 2020 with two bachelor’s degrees in Criminology, Law and Justice & History. She has a strong passion for education since childhood.
In law school, Emma furthered her experiences by externing during the Fall of 2023 with the United States House of Representatives Education and Workforce Committee on the Minority Staff. She was also the President of her public interest organization, the Equal Justice Foundation & and worked as a contributing editor for both the Journal of Corporation Law & the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice. She assisted in various criminal and professional ethics research during her last two years working as a Research Assistant for Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Iowa College of Law. Emma also served on the Iowa Student Bar Association as 2nd and 3rd year student representatives as well as assisted in the faculty hiring process. She has also spent a semester in Rome, Italy during her undergraduate education as well as completing the Iowa Law London Program during law school, to broaden her legal exposure into different legal systems.
