Mr. Gordon’s practice focuses on the areas of special education, student discipline, rights and residency, school finance, collective bargaining, business transactions, and general school law issues.
Mr. Gordon graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University in 1996. Mr. Gordon was admitted to the bar in Texas in 1996, where he practiced school law before joining Scariano, Himes and Petrarca in 1999.
Mr. Gordon has served as an adjunct professor for Benedictine University, teaching courses in special education law. He is also a frequent speaker for the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (“IASBO”) and at the Illinois Association of School Boards/Illinois Association of School Administrators/IASBO Annual Joint Conference. Mr. Gordon served on the Executive Committee of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys from 2005 to 2012 and served as its Chairman from 2010 to 2012.
