Since entering private practice in 1982, Mr. Field has focused his practice on the defense of public entities in all types of matters with a concentration in the areas of federal civil rights and employment discrimination litigation.>
Between 1975 and 1982 Mr. Field prosecuted all types of criminal cases as an Assistant States Attorney in Peoria County and Lake County. He has served as a Special Assistant State’s Attorney for the County of Lake since 1985. In that capacity he is retained by the State’s Attorney to defend the County, the Sheriff and various elected and appointed officials and their employees in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels.
Mr. Field has also been appointed special counsel by various municipalities, school boards, fire protection districts and sanitary districts in Lake County. He has lectured on federal civil rights laws to groups such as the Lake County Bar Association and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and has served as a lecturer at the Chicago Medical School.
Mr. Field graduated from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with honors in 1971. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1974.
