Mr. Gordon’s experience includes work in the areas of special education, student discipline, rights and residency, employee rights, school finance, real estate, construction, business transactions, civil rights and discrimination, insurance defense litigation and general school law issues.
Mr. Gordon graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in european studies. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University in 1996. Mr. Gordon was admitted to the bar in Texas in 1996, where he practiced school law before joining Scariano, Himes and Petrarca in 1999.
Mr. Gordon serves as an adjunct professor for Benedictine University, teaching courses in special education law. He is also a frequent speaker for the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (“IASBO”) and at the Illinois Association of School Boards/Illinois Association of School Administrators/IASBO Annual Joint Conference. Mr. Gordon was elected to the Executive Committee of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys in 2005. He currently serves as the First Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee.
